Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia 2024 is a classic Bordeaux varietal blend of 49% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot, 13% Cabernet Franc. The nose is pretty but not overly showy, with notes of red and blackcurrants, balsamic, cloves and hints of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is full but open knit and plush. This has lovely grainy well integrated tannins with a nice core of bright black fruit. It finishes cool and fresh. Less concentrated than some vintages but the 2024 is really appealing and approachable vintage.
