Girolamo Russo’s San Lorenzo 2022 is everything you want in a top Etna Rosso. This is predominantly Nero Mascalese from a singe vineyard with very old vines, (over 80 years old), at 780 metres above sea level. The altitude and cooling breeze helps them achieve the incredible elegance in the glass. The nose has lovely aromas of spices, blood orange, incense, earth and pepper. The palate is beautiful cherry, raspberries and violet. It is medium bodied with really fine grippy tannins. Beautifully balanced, classy and very enjoyable.
