2021 Barolo del Comune di La Morra, Crissante Alessandria

2021 Barolo del Comune di La Morra, Crissante Alessandria

A beautiful La Morra Barolo with fruit mainly from Roggeri (planted in 1953 & 2016) with a smaller portion from San Biagio and Bettolotti – the higher clay content of these soils made this wine a particular success this vintage. Opening with notes of cut rose, summer berries and tea leaf, this is so refreshing and beautiful. Vibrant, perfumed and so elegant.

Tasting notes

The 2021 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is terrific. Red-toned fruit, crushed flowers, chalk and mint are very nicely delineated. Tannins are a bit edgy and nervy for a wine from La Morra, but perhaps this will come together with time. This is far from an easygoing wine.
