A concentrated core of strawberry fruit with some baking spice. This is rounded off beautifully with hints of mint, a lovely texture from the tannins and a lift of energy on the finish that keeps this nicely balanced. This Barolo Riserva from the village of Castiglione Falletto is one of the wines of the vintage. Although it is starting to drink well now, well-made Barolo like this will cellar happily for a while yet.
