A tiny production wine from Luca, that’s got lots of Tortonian soil character. Lots of silky tannins, citrus fruit, and a lovely sense of purity. Rare but beautiful.
The 2017 Barolo del Comune di Barolo is laced with sweet dried cherry, incense, tobacco, cedar and mint. Silky, soft and quite open, the 2017 is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next 10-15 years. It is one of the most open-knit and accessible of the Roagna 2017s, helped by an extra kick of mid-palate sweetness most of the Barbarescos don't have, at least not at this stage.
