From the highest altitude site, from around the vineyard, the 2017 Castelletto transcends the vintage. Lovely nose, there’s plenty of intense fruit here, with lots of detail, hints of balsamic, and then a slightly floral character too. The tannins are beautifully refined and fresh, and there’s that core of fruit, too. This is so well balanced.
The 2017 Barolo Castelletto captures all of the savory and mineral complexity of this high-altitude site. Ethereal and gracious, the Castelletto has so much to offer. Pine, mint, blood orange, crushed raspberry and star anise are all finely sculpted throughout. This is one of the best Barolos I have ever tasted from Manzone. Don't miss it.
