2016 Solaia, Antinori, IGT Tuscany

The 2016 Solaia might just be even better than the 2015. Powerful, with ripe cherry fruit, wild blackcurrants, and plenty of spice, the palate has amazing volume yet a beautiful thread of fine acidity. Brilliantly balanced, this is a sensational wine.

2016 Solaia, Antinori, IGT Tuscany

The Antinori have been involved in the Tuscan wine trade for an impressive 26 generations. In 1970, scion Piero first made a wine that was ineligible for the official Chianti classification from the single vineyard, Tignanello. While it was not the first Super Tuscan, Tignanello played a huge role in shaking up the Italian wine scene. Its success was quickly followed by the creation of Solaia, which has quickly become one of Italy’s most sought-after wines.
