2016 Barrua, Isola Dei Nuraghi IGT, Agricola Punica, Sardegna
This red from Agricola Punica is seriously impressive in 2016. A blend of 85% Carignano and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, on the nose there are notes of tapenade and rosemary, alongside a deep core of dark cherries. The palate is so silky and vibrant: there’s an astonishing sense of balance here. This tastes far pricier than its £26.50 price point. Bravo.
