2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Boscarelli, Tuscany

2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Boscarelli, Tuscany

Made from 85% Sangiovese with Canniolo and Colorino making up the blend, and spending 18 months to 2 years in tonneau
and botti, this is a wine that benefitted from 2011’s 2 tries in the vineyard. With some ripe fruit and good body, the acidity is persistent and crucial to the balance of the wine. This is a nicely polished wine, especially on the finish.

Poderi Boscarelli - Famiglia De Ferrari Corradi

Boscarelli is a tiny estate, which gives the family total control over every part, and means they’ve been able to create wines of real individual character. Owner Luca works alongside celebrated winemaking consultant Maurizio Castelli, and his brother Nicolo is responsible for the vineyards. Nicolo, who lives on site, is hugely charismatic, and every time we meet him his facial hair has changed. What remains constant however is the quality of the wines from one of Montepulciano’s greatest names.
