2009 Valpolicella Superiore, Carlo Ferragu
Redolent with plum and soft hedgerow fruit and blossoms on the nose, twinned with notes of warming spice and cocoa. While this ripe, bold, full and rounded character continues onto the palate, here it is twinned with cooler notes of crunchy cranberry and red cherry, as well as a stony mineral backbone. Mouthwateringly fresh, this is a bright and decidedly-lovely wine.
