This vineyard was planted in 1963 and produces full bodied wines of great character. We tasted the 1999 during our trip and that is just starting to open up. I am convinced Guido is making better and better wines every year and cannot recommend them highly enough. The 2009 is relatively approachable with spicy red cherries, a mineral vein and fine-grained tannins; a traditional yet ripe Barolo of great complexity.
