2008 Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe, Cavallotto, Piedmont

Just released, the 2008 Riservas are, as ever, totally unique. Shy on the nose with balsamic cherries and dark spices, whilst there is less tannin than the 2006 it is a fascinating wine of considerable frame. I love the wines from this section of the hill: in the hands of a family with so much respect for nature and for the wines the results are sublime.
