2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Nocio dei Boscarelli, Tuscany

2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Nocio dei Boscarelli, Tuscany

This single-vineyard 100% Sangiovese is produced only in the best vintages; named after the vineyard whose walnut tree takes precedence among the vines. It has a rich, savoury aroma with tar, smoke, liquorice and leather framed by a firm and masculine oak character. On the palate, this big, powerful wine is rich with excellent weight and body and a compelling, visceral texture which leads to a round and harmonious finish.

Poderi Boscarelli - Famiglia De Ferrari Corradi

Boscarelli is a tiny estate, which gives the family total control over every part, and means they’ve been able to create wines of real individual character. Owner Luca works alongside celebrated winemaking consultant Maurizio Castelli, and his brother Nicolo is responsible for the vineyards. Nicolo, who lives on site, is hugely charismatic, and every time we meet him his facial hair has changed. What remains constant however is the quality of the wines from one of Montepulciano’s greatest names.
