2006 Gran Selezione, Isole e Olena, Chianti Classico
Initially a sceptic of the Gran Selezione classification, Paolo has waited until now to release a wine that he believes is truly worthy of the higher status. With only a tiny production (1,200 bottles released worldwide) we are honoured to have been offered a small allocation. Paolo combines Sangiovese with Cabernet Franc (12%) and Syrah (8%) to show the ‘elegance and drinkability of Chianti with the structure of a Super Tuscan’. Tasted earlier this year, the wine was simply outstanding.
