2006 Barolo Case Nere, Enzo Boglietti, Piedmont

This is really deep in colour and has a subdued nose. The palate has a dense core of fruit, but it is tight and unevolved. Big, brooding and tightly wound, the Case Nere is very concentrated and needs plenty of time. Patience will be rewarded however: the balance is terrific and the style demanding. Textbook Barolo for the long haul.
