2006 Barolo Castelletto, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

2006 Barolo Castelletto, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

Monforte is considered by many to be the best commune in Barolo and Giovanni Manzone and his son Mauro make some delicious wines, without the price tag of many. Attractive and open knit nose of red cherry and dark chocolate, infused with lavendar. The palate is ripe, round and harmonious, with the classic grip of a great vintage. Very classy, a lovely expression of Nebbiolo for relatively early drinking.
