2005 Barolo Bricco Boschis, Cavallotto, Piedmont

Cavallotto's signature Barolo is terrific in 2005. Traditionally made, with a medium colour, there is a distinct floral and menthol note to the nose. Deep and intense, but beautifully crafted, the tannins are firm, giving this a classic texture. However, the balance and finesse are such that it just floats over the palate. Expressive and elegant, this really is very fine. Not the longest lived wine in the offer, but certainly one of the best.
