The first release from Torre de Ona which is a blend of old vine parcels over 80 years old. This is a beautifully finessed wine from Rioja Alavesa with beguiling aromatics of red berries, wild herbs, violets and a hint of liquorice. The palate is poised and seamless with a bright line of acidity, and finely etched tannins. There is intensity here but a levity and lift that speaks of Burgundian elegance. A really fine style of Rioja that captures the spirit of these old vines and their place.
