2021 Tinto Joven, Guímaro, Ribeira Sacra
Winemaker and owner of this impressive family estate, Pedro Rodríguez, has brought this estate to the forefront of high quality Spanish wines and is considered a pioneer of the Ribeira Sacra region. The blend is largely Mencía with 15% Galician indigenous varieties Caiño, Sousón, Mouraton, Garnacha Tintorera, Brancellao, Negralada and Alicante Bouchet. Located on steep slate and granite terraces, the grapes are sourced from different plots and vinified separately. Fresh and lively red berry fruits combined with raspberry and cranberry notes are supported by fine grained tannins and a lively acidity.
