There is a finesse and a silkiness to the palate combined with a fine grained tannin that is of exceptional quality. The acidity is lively and crisp and there is a slight gravelly and mineral note on the finish. At 12.5% alcohol this wine is so approachable.
Readers, I fell in love. It's a wine that tastes poignant; a pool of bruises and salty tears in the cupped palm of a hand. Crushed raspberries, violet petals, old iron, rusting smudges of corners, rain on cracked red bricks, the scent of mushrooms growing under terracotta roof tiles. The scent of rain. The tannins are slow rain down dusty window panes. The finish is like standing under a rusting gutter in the first storm of autumn as the rain pours its soul into a dusty, thirsty earth.
