The 2016 Martelo is made from a single 2ha plot at Rioja Alta’s Torre de Oña property in Rioja Alavesa. Here the chalk soils and old vines lend themselves to a fuller, more modern style of wine. This has beautiful red cherry and black plum fruit along with plenty of spicy notes from maturation in French and American oak.
