Hailing from one of the greatest vintages in Spain in the last two decades, this 2001 Gran Reserva is simply impeccable Rioja.The deep berry nose, redolent in spiced blackberries and liquorice, provides a powerful and enticing aroma. Delicate hints of toasty oak with balsamic and vanilla nuances lead to a full and generous palate. The tannins aremature and fine, lending a silkymouthfeel that is both rich and elegant with a very long and lifted finish. An absolute classic with plenty of life in it yet.
