From the oldest vines of the terraced Lutzmannsburg vineyard, this 2016 from Roland Velic is a brilliant wine. On the nose, wild violets and a hint of tar - there’s something of Cote-Rotie about this. But on the palate, it’s more Burgundian, with such finesse and elegance, focussed acidity, and velvet tannins. It’s a wonderful wine: a real pleasure to taste.
