2017 Erdener Prälat Riesling Grosses Gewächs Alte Reben Réserve , Dr Loosen, Mosel
The red slate soil adds an iodine rich profile to the wines in this unique site. The backbone of this wine is flinty and saline and very tightly wound, with some fleshy peach and pink grapefruit notes and white pepper spice adding layers of complexity. The acidity is nervy and there is a wonderful phenolic grip on the finish.
