The red volcanic soils of Ürzig produce Rieslings with superb richness, ripe exotic scents and flavours and hints of spice. The 2009 growing season has accentuated this style, alongside a fine acid balance, which retains a precise and pristine texture. There is a lovely tension here; a contrasting taut and linear structure with ripe, honey-tinged fruit.
