2005 Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Riesling Auslese, Cask Nr. 21, Von Schubert, Ruwer

As would be expected from the style of Rheingau wines when compared to those of the Mosel/Saar/Ruwer, this is the 'biggest' Spätlese in this selection in terms of structure and opulence. The nose is rich with the aromas of dried apricots with hints of raisins and spices plus a touch of ginger, which adds a compelling nuance to both perfume and palate. Splendidly harmonious with a glorious mixture of ripe Riesling flavours and heady richness. 7.0% by volume.
