67% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay. This is based on the LGA 2012, but with a 5% addition of still red wine from the Pinot Noir vines that grow in the legendary 4 hectare monopole of Côte aux Enfants in Ay. It is a beautiful limpid salmon pink. Notes of strawberries, blood orange and grapefruit on the nose, intermingled with the toast, nutty notes so typical of Bollinger’s oak ageing and long evolution in bottle before release. This 2012 has a tense, vibrant, energetic palate, with a succulent weight of fruit making it drink perfectly already, but with the weight and delineation to promise complex evolution. An absolute triumph in this wonderful vintage.
