2009 La Vigne aux Gamins Blanc de Blancs, Thiénot

This Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs is only made in tiny quantities, and only in the best vintages. It comes from a single parcel of 60 year old vines in Avize, whose chalky soils are famous for the superb Chardonnays that grow here. A dosage of just 6g/l gives the perfect balance to the savoury and sophisticated character derived from its long ageing on lees (11 years sur lattes). This is a powerful and mesmerising Champagne. Only 3,500 bottles were produced. Disgorged in April 2021.
