2006 Alexandra Rose Millesime, Laurent-Perrier

Laurent-Perrier’s Cuvee Alexandra Rose 2006 is a striking copper colour. There are generous aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, orange zest, toasted bread and almond with subtler hints of herbs and spices. The palate is broad, distinctive and really complex. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were macerated together for 48 hours. Uniquely for a Champagne at this level there is no oak used in the winemaking. Overall it is powerful but harmous and balanced with a long intense finish.
