Krug Grande Cuvée is re-created every year. The 166 Edition was originally released in 2019, and is a blend of over 130 individual wines from more than 13 different years, the youngest of which is from 2010, while the oldest dates back to 1998. The high proportion of reserve wine in the blend not only takes this wine beyond a standard non-vintage, it takes it into a realm of richness and complexity all of its own. As ever, this Krug Grande Cuvée has power and luxurious depth on the nose, with a symphony of flavours on the palate: deep orchard fruit base notes with yeasty top notes, and a floral character dancing around candied citrus peel. Utterly delicious, and one of the wine world’s greatest treats in magnum format.
