N/V Extra Brut, Lucien Collard
A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay the fruit for this wine comes from two sources: 1 hectare of vines from the village of Bouzy and a further hectare of vines from Celles sur Ource in the Aube. With three years of ageing in bottle before disgorgement, this is a refined and intense style of champagne that opens with red berry fruits, toasted hazlenuts, and sourdough toast. The palate has a refreshing line of acidity with some breadth of summer berry fruit from the Pinot Noir, with a hint of ginger biscuit and orange peel on the finish. A delicious grower champagne for any occasion.
