2013 Vouvray Sec Le Haut-Lieu, Domaine Huet

This has a really attractive nose of fragrant red apples with notes of pear and fig. Fresh and mouth watering on the attack (but certainly not ‘acidic’ – more in the style of a very juicy Cox apple). There is a textured, mouth coating concentration of flavour from orchard fruits, yellow plum and grapefruit. The overall style is one of purity and clarity of expression (no oak/barrel flavours here), substance and weight, all presented in a clean cut, cool fruited, dry and delicious wine.
