Robert Parker, 92-95 points: “The light gold-colored 2010 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes Blanc has tremendous candle wax and honeysuckle notes intermixed with notions of crushed white flowers, brandied apricot marmalade and white peaches. This full-throttle, overwhelmingly rich and intense white should provide immense pleasure for 30-50 years.”
With an impressive female winemaker, Claire Darnaud, at the helm since 2010 (though with experience there dating back to 1996), and considerable investment in the cellar to move to the historic town centre, the wines here are some of the more refined in the region. Careful never to use more than 40% new oak, Claire is a master of her craft.
