This quiet, humble vigneron has earned cult status for his profoundly soulful Cornas. He is one of the few living winemakers who can genuinely be referred to as a legend. The domaine is small, less than five hectares, and the low yields means only tiny volumes are released. There is consistently insatiable demand for these rare, low-interventionist wines. The 2019 Reynard is a remarkable wine - muscular yet tender, bold yet detailed. Intensely mineral etched dark fruits stain the glass with aromas of bitter cocoa, liquorice root, violets and wild herbs. The fruit is ripe and seductive yet there is brilliant freshness and energy which drives the wine through the palate with real definition. A brilliant Cornas Reynard from Allemand.
