2015 Ermitage Le Méal, M. Chapoutier

From one of Hermitage’s most famous vineyards, this has lovely purity of young Syrah fruit which whilst a little heady at this early stage maintains a really nice violet quality. There is attractive sweetness to the fruit which comes through on palate as a ripe, silky texture. Impeccably balanced, fine tannins and acidity play second fiddle to the fruit intensity on this incredibly impressive wine from Michel.
