2013 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne, Réné Rostaing

If Blonde is exotic and muscular, Landonne is refined with wonderful aromatics, but remaining no less intense. The most Burgundian of the wines at Rostaing with a beguiling perfume of lavender, tar and blabckberry, this is a beautifully transparent, seamless wine of real soul.

2013 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne, Réné Rostaing
Domaine René Rostaing

A master in his field, René Rostaing is an anomaly. While his wife inherited some of the finest plots in the Côte-Rôtie, he initially elected a career in real estate, though he gradually spent more time making wine until he took it on full time in 2000. With 7.5 hectares of prime land, he blends the best of traditional and modern techniques in the vineyard and cellar, producing terroir-driven wines. René has recently been joined by his son, Pierre, whose first vintage in control was 2015.
