“The top cuvee, the Crozes-Hermitage Le Clos, is more limited in availability. Aged completely in small French oak, the 2011 Crozes-Hermitage Le Clos possesses plenty of black fruit notes intermixed with hints of acacia flowers, licorice, roasted meats and mountain laurel. Full and front-end loaded with soft tannins, this noteworthy 2011 should drink beautifully for a decade or more.” 90-92 points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
With an impressive female winemaker, Claire Darnaud, at the helm since 2010 (though with experience there dating back to 1996), and considerable investment in the cellar to move to the historic town centre, the wines here are some of the more refined in the region. Careful never to use more than 40% new oak, Claire is a master of her craft.
