2011 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne, Réné Rostaing

Rich, dark and alluring, this wine is heady and perfumed with lavender and violet scents. It has a wonderful mouthfeel that folds away in layers, like gentle waves. Dark berry, blackcurrant and victoria plum fruits are concentrated and intense, but with a real freshness. The 2011 vintage reflects fruit purity, an attribute clearly demonstrated in this striking wine.
(Given 90-92+ points in the Wine Advocate, Robert Parker)

2011 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne, Réné Rostaing
Domaine René Rostaing

A master in his field, René Rostaing is an anomaly. While his wife inherited some of the finest plots in the Côte-Rôtie, he initially elected a career in real estate, though he gradually spent more time making wine until he took it on full time in 2000. With 7.5 hectares of prime land, he blends the best of traditional and modern techniques in the vineyard and cellar, producing terroir-driven wines. René has recently been joined by his son, Pierre, whose first vintage in control was 2015.
