2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvée da Capo, Domaine du Pégau

2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvée da Capo, Domaine du Pégau

This wine is exceptionally intense, concentrated and heady, showing almost black-purple in the glass. Sweet, ripe, dark berry fruit on the nose combine with astonishing spice, liquorice and juicy beef-stock, creating an aroma that is quite simply spell-binding. The palate is deep with amazing sweetness and enormously compelling richness. Although the alcohol-content is high, the powerful notes of plum, black cherry, chocolate, Kirsch, currants, olive and lavender are matched by fabulous texture and bright acidity. This is truly a tour-de-force in winemaking.
