2010 Coudoulet de Beaucastel, Château de Beaucastel, Côtes du Rhône

Inviting on the nose, with notes of white pepper and store-cupboard spice. The fruit on the palate is of scented, almost heady, raspberry and hints of garrigue herbs, with a somewhat creamy texture imparted by subtle use of oak. A vein of bright acidity gives this a lovely lift and drive. This is a great wine for the medium term and offers excellent value for money in this vintage.
