2009 Gigondas, Domaine la Bouïssière

From some of Gigondas' highest vineyards, Thierry Faravel produces a wine of elegance and restraint. 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah make up the blend, which offers fresh-picked violet and crushed red berry fruit. There is much finesse here and, unusually for most Gigondas, a vein of impressive minerality. Very refined and taut, with excellent definition and persistence.
