Produced from very low yielding old vines (90+ yrs) with a good hit of supporting Mouvèrdre. Initially quite restrained on the nose, with gentle aromas of cloves and anise. The palate is concentrated and fresh with crushed raspberry, thyme and a long savoury finish. This is serious, traditionally made Châteauneuf and one of the best wines we tasted in 2009.
