2009 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne, Réné Rostaing

A great deal more reserved on the nose than the Classique. La Landonne's floral edge, though extremely fine, is almost hiding at present. On the palate the wine is far more intense, with piercing cassis-like concentration and breadth. As with the Classique, there is a notable mineral component which lends a vibrance to the wine. This is a broad, brilliantly proportioned cuvée, which manages to offer contrasting richness and body, with a delightfully feminine edge.
