2008 Hermitage, Domaine du Colombier

This has a deeper colour than the Cuvée Gaby and a pronounced earthy, slightly peppery nose. This is a more serious effort, with a lovely texture and ripe supple fruit, backed up by very gentle tannins. There is some grip to this Hermitage, but it is not an extracted heavy wine, showing a delicate touch and some real finesse, demonstrative of very clever winemaking. This will evolve well in the medium term.
