2007 L'Accent de la Roquète, Vignobles Brunier, Domaine la Roquète
Only around 4,000 bottles of this sensational cuvée are produced. Unlike Roquète, L’Accent comprises 90% old vine Grenache. Purple in the glass, with more overt, baked berry and cherry aromas than the above. The palate reveals a terrific sweet attack, ripe, open and full with silky, fine tannins. Notes of liquorice, summer berry compote and garrigue are evident – expressive with plenty of volume, there is a fine sense of poise here in this wonderfully pure Châteauneuf. Very fine indeed.
