Not as intense in hue as many Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but typical for Mont Olivet. The nose is glorious, offering characters of fragrant summer berry fruits, red cherry and perhaps even wild strawberry, but all with an overlay of aromatic provençal herbs. The palate continues in similar fashion, with a silky refinement to the tannins. There is a wealth of strawberry and cherry fruit on show. Never heavy or imposing, this is one of the most refined of all Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The 2007 is remarkably successful here, adding dimension and richness with no loss of elegance. Very fine indeed.
