2006 Hermitage Le Gréal, Marc Sorrel

Bright and deep in colour, Sorrel’s youthful hermitage has a note of extravagance about it. Pronounced black fruit aromas with fine freshness and notes of white pepper lift from the glass. On the palate one is at first struck by the soft attack of this wine: there is a thick texture as well as a notably juicy accent to the fruit. Substantial and forward with fine, rounded tannins, this coats the mouth with pure cassis and blackberry fruit. Exemplary hermitage.
