2005 Cornas Granit 60, Vincent Paris
Deep in colour with youthful purple tones to the rim. The aromas are distinctly mineral, making one think instantly of the granitic terroir. Violet, woodsmoke and fragrant black cherry fruit all come to mind. A ‘natural’ style on the palate, nothing angular, just ample, vibrant fruit. Lots of raspberry and loganberry notes and smoky minerality. There is a marked tannic grip currently suggesting this has fine prospects for cellarage. An impressive, harmonious Cornas – finely expressed and precise with flowing and persistent fruit.
