2005 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

Revealing a deep, bright crimson hue in the glass, the aromas are suggestive of ripe red berries. The palate reveals a sweet accent, broad and intense; there is a mouthfilling quality to this wine and a mineral, baked-stone character allied to ample dark cherry and vivid raspberry. Despite its evident weight and power, the wine is well-mannered and elegant. This is broad-shouldered, with plenty of earthy grip and direction yet exhibiting a fine element of restraint that is sure to bode well for its future development.

2005 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe
Frédéric et Daniel Brunier

Brothers Daniel and Frédéric Brunier took over Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, one of the largest in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with seventy hectares under vine, from their father Henri. While he recently passed away, they continue his work cultivating their prized parcel on ‘La Crau,’ considered one of the top sites in the region. Rightfully so, these wines are some of the most recognised Châteauneufs.
