2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru, Château Fuissé

The Tête de Cru is the estate’s bread and butter, and as one of the region’s greatest names this has everything you’d expect from Chateau de Fuissé. The wine is pure and lacy, with notes of orange blossom and a long, nutty, complex finish.

2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru, Château Fuissé
Château Fuissé

While the Mâconnais has seen an influx of winemakers from the Côte de Beaune, some producers here have a longer history. Among them, one name stands out: Château Fuissé. It was bought by the Vincent family in 1862, with the fifth generation now at the helm. They’ve built up an enviable selection of vineyards, with the top sites centred on Fuissé itself. They offer the same intensity as their neighbours, but with added complexity that would not look out of place further north.
